Courtney is an Indianapolis, Indiana native. Her first experience on a stage was very young and she performed a ballet recital as a member of the Dance Conservatory on the south side of Indianapolis. Her first lead role in a musical was in 2nd grade as Boo Bear in "Boo Bear and the Night Before Christmas" at Chapel Glen Elementary. Performing, and singing in particular, have been her gift. She was a member of the prestigious Indianapolis Children's Choir and throughout her adolescent years, Courtney continued performing and participating in theatre through various school choirs, musicals and competitions. She placed in State Solo and Ensemble competitions, and was a regional and state finalist for the Indiana Young Artist's Competition in 1999 and 2000.
She was accepted into the prestigious Indiana University Jacobs School of Music program as a Vocal Performance major after high school. She transferred to Brigham Young University - Idaho where she studied with world renowned opera singer, Kristine Ceisinski, world famous tenor Stanford Olsen and Dr. David Olsen. She was crowned the "Ultimate Idol" of BYU-Idaho in 2010 in a university wide singing competition.
Giving back to young singers and performers is something she is especially excited about because she loves to mentor. Her well rounded education, natural abilities and her command of the stage provide her students with a unique experience. Her focus is enhancement of the voice, building confidence, and providing a solid foundation for singers to excel in auditions, performances, and competitions.
In her personal life, Courtney was married in 2011 to her husband, Ryan, and enjoys being a dog mom to her Sharpei, Henry, and her lovely mega-mutt Sadie.
Courtney is passionate about mental health advocacy for childhood trauma survivors (a survivor herself), providing opportunities to underserved communities as it pertains to music and the arts, and suicide awareness. Her hobbies include learning more about nutrition and natural healing and religion and spirituality. She enjoys cooking, and all things involving being domestic. She supports the ideals of mind, body and spirit nourishment through compassion, prayer and meditation, spending time in nature, and laughter.
